FARMINGTON – Ryan Pelletier of Orrington recorded a goal and two assists to help lead the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers to a 3-1 men’s soccer win over the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners Saturday.
Dylan Moreau and James Tollefson each added his first collegiate goal for the 2-2 Beavers, while Matt Dennett made six saves on eight MMA shots
Isaiah Roberts of Machias scored for 2-4 MMA of Castine and Randy Bartlett made six saves on 15 shots.
UM-Fort Kent earns sweep
At Fort Kent, Andre Anderson and Keith Williams III combined for seven goals as the undefeated University of Maine at Fort Kent men’s soccer team earned a doubleheader sweep over the weekend.
The Bengals earned defeated SUNY-Canton 2-0 on Saturday and Paul Smith’s College 11-0 on Sunday.
Anderson and Williams each scored a goal in the win against SUNY-Canton, while Giovanni Sinclair made three saves in goal for UMFK.
Williams scored three goals and Anderson two against Paul Smith’s. Josh Nichols, Oniqueky Samuels, Jermaine West and Jarryd Phillips also scored for UMFK, which also got an own goal from Paul Smith’s.
Sinclair made one save on one shot for the 7-0 Bengals.
UMPI goes 1-0-1
At Presque Isle, Richard Felbaum made 11 saves on 21 shots as the University of Maine-Presque Isle tied SUNY-Canton 0-0 Sunday after beating Paul Smith’s College of Arts and Sciences 2-0 on Saturday.
UMPI is now 3-1-1 while SUNY-Canton, which got four saves from Eamon Case, is 2-4-2.
On Saturday, Devon Peaslee scored a first-half goal and set up Corey Fournier’s second-half goal and Felbaum made two stops as UMPI triumphed.
Beau Marshall made 20 saves on 27 shots for 1-1 Paul Smith’s College.
Husson 5, Thomas 3
At Waterville on Saturday, the Eagles scored four unanswered goals in the second half to rally from a 3-1 deficit.
Nathan Carter scored the game-winner and an insurance goal after Hiroshi Iwabuchi and Nattapong Kongsuriya tied it early in the second half.
Kongsuirya also scored in the first half.
Tim Costa scored for Thomas and picked up assists on goals by Kevin White and Tom Desjardins.
Miguel Dominguez made one save on five shots for Husson while Keegan Curtin made eight saves on 19 shots for Thomas.
Southern Maine 5, Keene St. 0
At Keene, N.H., Greg Cox had a goal and an assist to lead the Huskies to victory on Saturday.
Alex Burnham, Ben Slagle, Peter McHugh and Nick Johnson also scored for the 5-2-1 Huskies. Sinisa Bajic provided two assists. David Kreps made five saves on 17 shots.
Peter Kersker and Scott Panone combined for two saves on 10 shots for 2-3-2 Keene State.
Maine 0, Northeastern 0 (2OT)
At Orono, neither Nemanji Kostic of the University of Maine nor Northeastern University’s Scott Partridge allowed a goal Saturday.
Kostic made seven saves on 21 shots for the 2-4-1 Black Bears.
Partridge turned away seven of 13 shots for 1-2-3 Northeastern.
St. Joseph’s 1, Norwich 1 (2OT)
At Northfield, Vt., Ryan Boynton scored off a Rob Harlow assist with five minutes left in the second half to earn Norwich the tie.
Charles Maxwell stopped one of seven shots he faced for the 6-0-1 Cadets.
Doug MacCallum scored for the 2-3-2 Monks at 10:16 in the first half off a Paul Robbins assist. Will Pike made 12 saves on 36 shots.
Women’s soccer
Maine 2, Cornell 0
At Ithaca, N.Y. on Sunday, Christine LaBelle took a Cristine DiIelsi pass and scored 10:45 into the game to lead Maine to its win over the Big Red.
Veronique Fleury added a second-half goal for 3-1-4 Maine.
Jasmine Phillips made four saves on 10 shots for her fourth shutout while Jodi Palmer made three saves on 10 shots for 1-4-1 Cornell.
UMPI has 1-0-1 weekend
At Presque Isle, the Owls defeated Paul Smith’s College 4-0 on Saturday before battling to a 3-3 tie with SUNY-Canton on Sunday.
Jessica Kinney had two goals against Paul Smith’s, while Erin Pelletier and Chelsea Boudreau each scored a goal and Desiree Smith, Carolyn Tuck and Olivia Jameson each had an assist.
Billie Martin did not have to make a save for UMPI.
Jameson, Smith and Carmen Allen scored for 3-1-1 UMPI in Sunday’s game, while Tuck had an assist. Martin made four saves on eight shots.
Nikki Perkins scored twice and Aimee Bookmiller once for 4-1-1 SUNY-Canton. Aubrey Parrish made five saves.
UMFK splits two matches
At Fort Kent on Sunday, Whitney Sinclair scored four goals, including three in the first half, to lead the Bengals to a 6-0 victory over Paul Smith’s College.
Brianne McGary added two goals and two assists for UMFK, while Sinclair, Sara Nadeau and Emily Burnett each contributed an assist.
Kayla Daigle made two saves on three shots for 5-2 UMFK. Kara Zurmuhlen made 10 saves on 19 shots for Paul Smith’s College.
On Saturday, Nikki Perkins scored two goals as SUNY-Canton edged the Bengals 2-1 in a rematch of their 2007 Sunrise Conference final.
Sarah Nadeau scored on a header off an Angela Norsworthy corner kick early in the first half to give UMFK a 1-0 lead.
Kayla Daigle was not required to make a save on six SUNY-Canton shots, while Aubrey Parrish made five saves on nine UMFK shots.
UM-Farmington 1, MMA 0 (OT)
At Farmington, Amber Murphy scored off a Jennifer Richter assist 3:06 into overtime to give the University of Maine at Farmington the win Saturday.
McKell Barnes made one save on one shot for 2-3 UM-Farmington.
Lacey Jackson blocked five of 17 shots for 3-5 Maine Maritime Academy of Castine.
Keene St. 5, Southern Maine 1
At Gorham, Katie Bradford and Molly Brunelle scored two goals apiece as Keene State College earned the victory Saturday.
Sia Karamourtopoulos had a goal and an assist for 6-2 Keene State. Megan Dempsey and Ashley Molloy combined for one save on four shots.
Bridget FitzGerald scored an unassisted goal in the first half for 3-2 Southern Maine. Alison Bradley and Kat Rothe combined to block 11 of 24 shots.
Wheaton 5, Husson 3
At Bangor, Melida Alvarez scored three goals and assisted on another as Wheaton College beat Husson on Saturday.
Amanda Resendes and Jessica Bramucci added goals for 8-1 Wheaton. Kacy Frasier and Lindsay Leddy combined for six saves on nine shots.
Shelby Bradford scored twice for 4-2 Husson. Amy Sanz also scored and Katelyn Cloutier added an assist. Tatyana Wolterbeak made six saves on 11 shots.
Norwich 4, Saint Joseph’s 2
At Northfield, Vt., Nikki Szczepanski scored two goals and assisted on a third as Norwich earned the victory Saturday.
Meghan Hoskins had a goal and an assist for the Cadets. Sarah Reuschel added a goal while Alecia Wright and Nicki Hunsicker combined to make five save off eight shots.
Mikayla Call scored off a Jessica Needham assist at 3:19 in the first half for Saint Joseph’s of Standish. Anna Willis added an unassisted goal at 36:45. Katye Mayo stopped five of 15 shots.
Thomas 8, Fisher 0
At Waterville, Julia Nyitray scored three goals and assisted on two others as the Terriers topped Fisher College of Boston on Sunday.
Jamie Lockett had two goals and three assists for Thomas, while Terissa Ridge, Stephanie O’Brien and Kristi Poland also scored. Poland added an assist as Lindsey Gove blocked three of four shots.

Maine 7, Bryant 0
At Orono, Kelly Newton scored three goals and assisted on two others as the University of Maine shut out Bryant University on Saturday.
Ellen Andrews had a goal and an assist for the 3-3 Black Bears. Stephanie Gardiner, Courtney Veinotte and Jackie D’Amato also scored. Brittany Fleck made one save on two shots.
Kundayi Mawema stopped 17 of 35 shots for 1-6 Bryant.
UM-Farmington 2, Husson 1
At Farmington, Alyssa St. Pierre scored off a Elyse Cole assist at 65:11 to break a 1-1 tie and lead the University of Maine at Farmington to victory Saturday.
Samantha Kenison scored at 30:01 in the first off a Emma Dean penalty corner for 2-3 UM-Farmington. Kaeleigh Barker blocked seven of 10 shots.
Elisha Dorso tied it the match at 35:00 on a penalty corner for 0-3 Husson. Kara Voisine made three saves on nine shots.
Saint Joseph’s 2, Thomas 1
At Waterville, Kelly Emerson scored the game-winner off an Alyssa Dunn assist in the second half Saturday for the Monks.
Kayla Nowell scored 4-1 Saint Joseph’s first goal at 12:36 with an assist from Jillian Kimball.
Kellie Martel scored an unassisted goal at 39:48 to pace 1-4 Thomas.
USM 3, Western Connecticut 0
At Gorham, India Lowe, Alyssa Kraus and Rolinda Mitchell scored to lead the University of Southern Maine to victory Saturday.
Jen Gagnon, Bethany Bougie, Caitlin Albert and Whitney MacDaniel provided assists for the 2-3 Huskies. Alison Hill made 11 saves on 17 shots to earn the shutout.
Christine Natale blocked 13 of 22 shots for 1-5 Western Connecticut.
