Williams lifts Husson past Norwich 25-19

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Julius Williams rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns as the Husson University Eagles beat Norwich 25-19 for their second straight college football victory Saturday.

Williams scored on runs of 20 and 26 yards and Darren Gauthier added a 28-yard field goal as Husson built a 16-6 halftime lead,

Gauthier added a 34-yard field goal and James McCandless passed for a 15-yard TD as the Eagles extended their lead to 25-6 early in the fourth quarter.

Justin Lindie added 97 yards on 22 carries for Husson, while McCandless completed 6 passes for 103 yards.

At Springfield, Mass., Jim Bower rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter, as the Mariners earned their first win of the season.

Nick Bourassa added 123 rushing yards on seven carries as well as an 84-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the opening play of the game, while Jonathan Farrin rushed for 79 yards as MMA amassed 420 rushing yards.

Tyler Angell also hit Alex Coulombe with a 35-yard touchdown pass for the Mariners.

Justin Walz led Western New England College, setting three school records by completing 43 of 62 passes for 438 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Walz also rushed for two touchdowns.

The teams combined for 1,058 yards of total offense.
