Boston Celtics legend JoJo White will accompany the NBA’s Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy when it makes two stops in Maine on Wednesday, including a visit to Alfond Arena in Orono.

The stops, which are free and open to the public, are part of the world champion Boston Celtics’ New England State Trophy Tour presented by TD Banknorth, which is based in Portland.

The first stop Wednesday will be at the Expo in Portland, and current players Tony Allen, Leon Powe and Brian Scalabrine will also attend the ceremony, according to a release from Gov. John Baldacci’s press office.

Also, members of the Celtics Dancers and mascot Lucky the Leprechaun will join White at both sessions.

The festivities in Portland will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a short rally at noon and the public display of the trophy from noon until 2 p.m.

The Orono session will be 4:30-6:30 p.m. Cameras are welcome at both sessions.

Baldacci had previously proclaimed Wednesday as Celtics Day throughout the state in honor of the trip.
