JASPER COUSINS

A linebacker and running back for the Mount Desert Island football team, Jasper Cousins scored two rushing touchdowns and had 16 tackles on defense as the Trojans earned an important 35-14 Pine Tree Conference Class B football victory over Waterville.

Small School (Classes C-D)

ETHAN QUALEY

Katahdin of Stacyville soccer player Ethan Qualey had seven goals and two assists as the unbeaten Cougars earned pointworthy victories over Bangor Christian and Ashland. Qualey had three goals and an assist during a 4-1 win over Bangor Christian, and followed that with four goals and an assist in a 12-1 victory over Ashland.

Big School (Classes A-B)

KATIE DESHANE

Old Town sophomore forward Katie Deshane racked up four goals in two soccer games for the Coyotes, who are off to a 6-1 start in the Eastern Maine Class B ranks. Deshane recorded three goals in a pointworthy 3-2 victory over John Bapst of Bangor Saturday, and scored one in a 3-1 triumph over Central of Corinth Tuesday.

Small School (Classes C-D)

LONA SARGENT

Sumner of East Sullivan’s Lona Sargent recorded five goals in two games last week. She scored all four goals in a 4-0 triumph over Narraguagus of Harrington on Saturday while netting the Tigers’ lone goal in a 2-1 setback to Bangor Christian on Tuesday.
