BELFAST – “Resonance and Response,” an exhibit of work by Joe Ascrizzi and Diana Cherbuliez, will open on Friday, Oct. 3, and run through Nov. 28 at Waterfall Arts Clifford Gallery.
Both Ascrizzi and Cherbuliez are master sculptors and storytellers. Curators Dudley Zopp and Alan Crichton brought the two artists together in harmony with Deep Craft, A Maker’s Movement, the central concept of CONFLUX, Waterfall Arts’ second annual Art+Nature Symposium in mid-November.
Deep Craft is the creation of the Wowhaus, the California-based collaborative team of Scott and Ene Constable who will be the featured presenters at CONFLUX. Through experiment and demonstration, Deep Craft seeks to reinvigorate the role of the handmade in contemporary life.
As part of the Belfast Poetry Festival, poet Michael Macklin and artist Cathy Melio have collaborated on a Fallout Cafi Gallery exhibit also open Oct. 3 through Nov. 28. A reception for all four artists is scheduled for 3-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Waterfall Arts, 256 High St. For more information, call 338-2222 or visit waterfallarts.org
