FREEDOM – The Waldo County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary on the Belfast Road that netted the thief cash and jewelry.
Chief Deputy Robert Keating said the break-in was reported at 6:45 p.m. Friday when the couple living there returned from work and discovered their home had been entered.
Keating said a change container holding about $100 and some women’s jewelry were taken during the break-in. It also appeared that the intruder had searched the home for prescription medication.
Detective Merl Reed and Deputy Dan Thompson are handling the investigation, Keating said Monday.
