SOMERVILLE, Mass. – Mikayla Call had a hat trick as Saint Joseph’s College of Standish beat Suffolk University 6-2 in women’s soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
Jessica Needham added two goals for the 4-3 Monks. Katie Jordan also scored a goal. Katye Mayo stopped six of 15 shots.
Graciela Sanchez and Leslie Hayden scored for 3-4 Suffolk. Emily Joyce turned away 14 of 29 shots.
Salem State 2, Southern Maine 0
GORHAM – Erin O’Brien and Amber Warnick scored first-half goals to lift Salem State College over the University of Southern Maine 2-0 in women’.
Jackie Gauthier assisted Warnick’s goal for 7-1-1 Salem State. Leah Potcner saved two of four shots.
Alison Bradley turned away six of 16 shots for 3-4 Southern Maine.
Men’s soccer
Bates 11, Thomas 1
At Waterville, Chris Molnar scored three goals as Bates College defeated Thomas College.
Patrick Jackson had two goals and an assist for Bates. Dustin DiGregorio, David Wood, Tyler Mehegan, Chris Okano, Haynes Johnston scored. The last score was an own goal into Thomas’ net. Greg Watts, Karl Anderson and Brian Goldberg combined for one save on four shots.
Andrew Pelletier scored off a Tom Desjardins assist in the first half for Thomas. James Gorneau, Anthony Wheeler and Keegan Curtin combined to stop eight of 20 shots.
