Lubec learning center plans campus repairs

LUBEC – Friends of the Cobscook Community Learning Center are invited to join other volunteers, the staff and the board for a day of trail clearing, painting and shingling on the CCLC campus from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3.

Branches need to be trimmed back and fallen trees need to be removed to make a 1-mile stretch of trail fully passable again. Other tasks for the day include painting trim and shingling a wall on the Community Commons building. All volunteers are invited to attend a lunchtime pizza party.

The CCLC will provide all of the necessary tools (though anyone with a favorite hammer or chain saw is welcome to bring them along), and no experience in trail work, painting or shingling is necessary. This day will be an opportunity to enjoy the campus, contribute to its well-being, learn new skills, meet new people and have fun. For more information, contact the CCLC at 733-2233 or visit www.thecclc.org.
