AUGUSTA – A new bus service launched this week runs between Augusta and Boston.
On Wednesday, Concord Coach Lines began offering five daily trips to South Station and Logan Airport in Boston that leave Augusta between 6:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
The buses operate out of the new Augusta Transportation Center, which has been in the works for nearly three years.
Concord Coach Lines’ owner Harry Blunt said the terminal has opened at a time when more people are looking to public transportation to reduce fuel expenses and help the environment.
In time, he expects annual ridership to be 35,000 to 50,000 out of Augusta.
