Retro is everywhere, and now it’s creeping onto our television screens with more frequency. It used to be that Nick At Night was where you’d find reruns of your old favorites, but it seems that reruns are out and redos are in.

They’ve already brought back updated versions of “Knight Rider” and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” and now it appears that “The Partridge Family” is being modernized, too.

Thank goodness there’s enough reality TV already out there and in the works to last us a lifetime and spare us from this resurrection nightmare.

As most of you know, “The Real Housewives” series on Bravo is one of my favorites, or should I say was one of my favorites.

The preview of the most recent series, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” was atrocious.

In previous seasons, most of the women have worked for their money. They valued what they had because they’d earned it. That’s definitely not the case this time around.

Only one of the women, Lisa Wu Hartwell, is a worker. The others married their money, mostly superstar athletes, and enjoy spending their sugar daddies’ dough while pampering themselves with clothes, jewels, manis and pedis, and phat rides. Who can get up one morning, decide she wants a new car, go to the dealership and write a check for a Cadillac Escalade that has all the bells and whistles? Not this girl.

The Man on the Couch was so repulsed that he couldn’t watch and actually had to get up off the couch and go into the other room.

Of course it goes without saying that because I hate it (or maybe I’m just a little jealous), I’ll have to watch the rest of the season when it airs at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, on Bravo.

Bravo’s on a roll this fall and looks to have a promising lineup with a new series of “Top Chef,” to premiere at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. This season is set in New York, and while there aren’t any contestants from Maine, the youngest chef competing for the prize is from Massachusetts and the rest of the country would probably say that’s close enough.
