ROCKLAND – Blake Ford and Cam Shorey each scored three touchdowns and converted three two-point tries as the Calais/Woodland Silverados defeated the Rockland Tigers 48-40 in high school football action Saturday.

Both Calais and Rockland scored six touchdowns, but Calais converted all six two-point conversions while Rockland made just two.

Ford rushed 33 times for 211 yards to lead Calais while Shorey ran 155 yards on 21 carries.

Eric Henry completed all three pass attempts for 60 yards for the Silverados. He also had four carries for 18 yards.

Ford had seven tackles and a force fumble on defense while Shorey had six tackles and Spencer McCormick had five tackles and an interception.

Sam Weiss led Rockland with three first-quarter rushing touchdowns. He totaled 143 yards on 22 carries. He also caught a TD pass from Dylan Meklin in the second quarter.

Meklin completed 13 of 20 passes for 145 yards, including two touchdown passes to Nick Baudanza in the second half.

Calais totaled 474 yards of offense, 414 rushing. Rockland had 292 offensive yards, 128 on passing and 164 rushing.

There were no punts in the game.

At Belfast, Ori Downs notched both goals including the game-winner with 14:15 left for Belfast.

Crystle Kirby, Helene Wallace and Allison Murnane each grabbed an assist for 7-2 Belfast. Paxton Mohney made five saves on six shots.

Brianna Moody scored for 7-3 Mount View on an assist from Cassandra St. Clair. Junie Garvin stopped six of eight shots.

At Orono, Adriana Eurich scored both goals for Stearns of Millinocket in the first half to lead Stearns.

Kirsten Marter made eight saves on 17 shots for the 5-3 Minutemen.

Audrey Landis scored the lone goal for 3-7 Orono unassisted and Amber Saucier made one save on three shots.

Brewer 1, Messalonskee 0 (OT)

At Brewer, Emily Fraser scored the game-winning goal on a break-away 2:52 into overtime as Brewer knocked off previously undefeated Messalonskee of Oakland.

Angela Patterson stopped all 15 shots she faced for the 4-6 Witches.

Hermon 2, Piscataquis 1

At Guilford, Victoria Davenport scored two first-half goals, including the go-ahead goal with 38 seconds left in the half, to lead Hermon.

Jamie Roy turned away 12 of 14 shots for 4-6 Hermon.

Annie Agnew scored with 4:08 remaining in the first half for 0-10 Piscataquis. Brianna Tweedie saved 20 of 22 shots.

Girls soccer

Orono 1, Fort Kent 0

At Orono, Chloe Paul scored the game’s only goal with 24:57 remaining in the second half to lead Orono by Fort Kent.

Elizabeth Fox made four saves on seven shots for the 6-4-1 Warriors. Carissa Pelletier stopped nine of 15 shots for the 5-2-2 Red Riots.

Presque Isle 5, John Bapst 0

At Presque Isle, Kayla Legassie and Chelsea Nickerson scored two goals apiece to power Presque Isle.

Kayla Richards added a goal for 9-1 Presque Isle while Sarah Porter, Katrina Whittier and Legassie each had an assist. Kellsey Park made one save on two shots for the Wildcats.

Laura Jordan stopped 11 of 18 shots for 6-4 John Bapst.

Caribou 1, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Jenna Selander scored the game-winning goal in the first minute of overtime on an assist from Kristen Espling to lead Caribou.

Morgan Swan made five saves on seven shots for the 8-2 Caribou Vikings.

Sara Bishop stopped 11 of 27 shots for 2-7 Hermon.

At Deer Isle, Esther Adams scored what proved to be the winning goal 35 seconds for Deer Isle-Stonington.

Meaghan Robinson scored the first goal for the 3-3-2 Mariners while Britnie Jones and Janelle Ciomei each had assists. Anika Powers saved 14 of 18 shots.

Alexxa Pasanen scored a goal for 2-8 Schenck. Kira Burleigh made 10 saves on 16 shots for the Wolverines.

Lee Acad. 5, Penquis 2

At Milo, Kate Malet scored three goals to power Lee.

Ashley Dill and Britt Rideout each added a goal for 3-6 Lee. Felicia Thornton stopped 19 of 28 shots.

Erica Lyford and Kristyn Chapman each posted a goal for Penquis. Lyford and Chapman combined to make 21 saves on 30 shots for the 1-7-1 Patriots.

Washington Acad. 3, Sumner 1

At East Sullivan, Sung Min Kim tallied a pair of goals to propel Washington Academy.

Nicko Forte added a goal while Milos Gautier had an assist. Bryce Colbeth made nine saves on 12 shots for the 9-1 Raiders.

Anthony Cultrea scored for Sumner 13 seconds into the game. Mike Crowley stopped 23 of 35 shots for the 1-10 Tigers.

Shead 8, East Grand 1

At Danforth, Tim Barnes netted three goals as Shead of Eastport cruised.

Tom Pottle and Caleb Ricker scored two goals apiece while Justin Lewey added a goal for Shead. Pottle and Lewey each had two assists. Tyler Mitchell and Ethan Stevens combined to make nine saves on 14 shots for the 4-4 Tigers.

Jordan Crone scored a goal for 0-8 East Grand. David Cropley stopped nine of 19 shots.

DI-Stonington 3, Schenck 1

At Deer Isle, Joseph Carter had a goal and an assist while leading the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners.

For the 4-3-1 Mariners, Corey Fifield and Noah Leighton each scored one goal. Eben Powers made 14 saves on 16 shots.

Tyrell Davis scored an unassisted goal for the 1-9-1 Wolverines. Ryan Thompson saved 12 of 17 shots.

At Presque Isle, Russ Mortland scored two goals in the second half to spark Presque Isle by John Bapst.

Isaac LaJoie and Warren Zubrick each added a goal in the second half for 9-0-1 Presque Isle. Dillon Kingsbury stopped five of eight shots.
