Fraser’s goal lifts Brewer past Messalonksee

BREWER – Emily Fraser scored off a breakaway 2:52 into overtime to help the Brewer Witches knock off the previously undefeated Messalonskee Eagles in high school field hockey action Saturday.

Angela Patterson stopped all 15 shots she faced for the 4-6 Witches.

JV: Messalonskee 4-0

Belfast 2, Mount View 1

At Belfast, Ori Downs notched both goals including the game-winner with 14:15 left for Belfast. Paxton Mohney made five saves on six shots for 7-2 Belfast.

Brianna Moody scored for 7-3 Mount View on an assist from Cassandra St. Clair. Junie Garvin stopped six of eight shots.

JV: Mount View 3-0

Old Town 2, Mattanawcook 0

At Old Town, Molly Baillargeon and Lindsay St. Louis each netted a goal to lead Old Town.

Chelsey Humphrey and Kayla DuPont each had an assist for 5-2-1 Old Town. Heather Nye and Danyle Boobar combined to stop all six shots

Colleen Albert made five saves on nine shots for the 4-6 Lynx.

Dexter 2, Central 1

At Corinth, Dexter’s Cally Mountain and Crissy Mountain scored second-half goals to erase a 1-0 deficit and defeat Central.

Claire Wyman and Shelby Lancaster provided assists for the 9-0 Tigers. Sam Conway stopped seven of 14 shots.

Logan Wilson scored a first-half goal off a Rachel Trafton assists for 4-6 Central. Brittany Cote turned away five of seven shots.

JV: Dexter 3-0

Stearns 2, Orono 1

At Orono, Adriana Eurich scored both goals for Stearns of Millinocket in the first half to lead Stearns.

Kirsten Marter made eight saves on 17 shots for the 5-3 Minutemen.

Audrey Landis scored the lone goal for 3-7 Orono unassisted and Amber Saucier made one save on three shots.

Hermon 2, Piscataquis 1

At Guilford, Victoria Davenport scored two first-half goals, including the go-ahead goal with 38 seconds left in the half, to lead Hermon.

Jamie Roy turned away 12 of 14 shots for 4-6 Hermon.

Annie Agnew scored with 4:08 remaining in the first half for 0-10 Piscataquis. Brianna Tweedie saved 20 of 22 shots.

Boys soccer

Presque Isle 4, John Bapst 1

At Presque Isle, Russ Mortland scored two goals in the second half to spark Presque Isle by John Bapst.

Dillon Kingsbury stopped five of eight shots for 9-0-1 Presque Isle.

Miles Gagnon scored for John Bapst on an assist from Andrew Casey. Casey Hull made 17 saves on 25 shots for the 4-4-1 Crusaders.

JV: Presque Isle 4-0

DI-Stonington 3, Schenck 1

At Deer Isle, Joseph Carter had a goal and an assist while leading the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners.

Eben Powers made 14 saves on 16 shots for 4-3-1 DI-S.

Tyrell Davis scored an unassisted goal for the 1-9-1 Wolverines. Ryan Thompson saved 12 of 17 shots.

Lee Acad. 2, Penquis 0

At Milo, Hector Gutierrez and Carston Kaiser each scored a goal in the first half for Lee.

Dean MacDonald grabbed an assist for 3-5-1 Lee. A.J. Harris stopped nine of 15 shots.

Richie Russell made three saves on 12 shots for 2-6-1 Penquis.

Dexter 2, Central 1 (OT)

At Corinth, Ryan Wilks scored the game-winning goal with three minutes left in overtime to lift Dexter past Central.

Andrew Lary scored the first goal for Dexter on a pass from Devan Grant. Nathan Wyman made 23 saves on 31 shots for the 6-1-3 Tigers.

Matt Kelley scored for Central on an assist from Tyler Duncan. Cole Haskell and Duncan combined to make 13 saves on 17 shots for the 5-4-2 Red Devils.

Bangor 10, Skowhegan 0

At Bangor, Clark Noonan, Luke Hetterman and Johnny Warren scored two goals apiece as the Rams rolled.

Phil Frost provided a goal and an assist for 8-0-1 Bangor, while Chad Kelley, Nate Frazier and Cody Cormier added one goal apiece. Brandon Landry registered two assists, with Jack Stacy and Ryan Larochelle posting one each.

Bud Angst made six saves on 12 shots.

Nick Beaulieu came up with 17 saves on 23 shots for 1-9 Skowhegan.

JV: Bangor 10-0

Orono 2, Fort Kent 1

At Orono, Brandon Paul scored off an assist from Phil Benoit with 4:33 remaining, lifting the Red Riots to victory.

Lee Hecker’s unassisted first-half goal had tied the game at 1-1. A.J. Coleman made two saves on three shots for 8-3 Orono.

Thomas Levesque scored an unassisted goal for 9-4-1 Fort Kent. Matt Harvey made 17 saves on 19 shots.

Girls soccer

Orono 1, Fort Kent 0

At Orono, Chloe Paul scored the game’s only goal with 24:57 remaining in the second half to lead Orono by Fort Kent.

Elizabeth Fox made four saves on seven shots for the 6-4-1 Warriors. Carissa Pelletier stopped nine of 15 shots for the 5-2-2 Red Riots.

Presque Isle 5, John Bapst 0

At Presque Isle, Kayla Legassie and Chelsea Nickerson scored two goals apiece to power Presque Isle.

Kayla Richards added a goal for 9-1 Presque Isle while Sarah Porter, Katrina Whittier and Legassie each had an assist. Kellsey Park made one save on two shots for the Wildcats.

Laura Jordan stopped 11 of 18 shots for 6-4 John Bapst.

Caribou 1, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Jenna Selander scored the game-winning goal in the first minute of overtime on an assist from Kristen Espling to lead Caribou.

Morgan Swan made five saves on seven shots for the 8-2 Caribou Vikings.

Sara Bishop stopped 11 of 27 shots for 2-7 Hermon.

JV: Caribou 2-1

DI-Stonington 2, Schenck 1

At Deer Isle, Esther Adams scored what proved to be the winning goal 35 seconds for Deer Isle-Stonington.

Meaghan Robinson scored the first goal for the 3-3-2 Mariners while Britnie Jones and Janelle Ciomei each had assists. Anika Powers saved 14 of 18 shots.

Alexxa Pasanen scored a goal for 2-8 Schenck. Kira Burleigh made 10 saves on 16 shots for the Wolverines.

Lee Acad. 5, Penquis 2

At Milo, Kate Malet scored three goals to power Lee.

Ashley Dill and Britt Rideout each added a goal for 3-6 Lee. Felicia Thornton stopped 19 of 28 shots.

Erica Lyford and Kristyn Chapman each posted a goal for Penquis. Lyford and Chapman combined to make 21 saves on 30 shots for the 1-7-1 Patriots.
