ST. ALBANS – A 35-year-old Todds Corner Road man was accidentally shot in the head Saturday night and the bullet was still lodged in his skull.
Somerset County Deputy Sheriff Michael Ross, who investigated the incident, said the man tripped and the gun went off about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
Ross said that because of other issues surrounding the case, he did not want to identify the man or give details of the shooting.
The man was taken by ambulance to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield and then taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was listed in stable condition, Ross said.
“He is very lucky,” Ross said of the man’s condition.
