Bouchard, Howard lift Lakers to victory

GREENVILLE – Sophomore Dylan Bouchard and freshman Kenny Howard each scored their first-ever high school goals to lead the Greenville Lakers to a 3-2 schoolboy soccer win over Calvary Chapel Monday.

Bouchard finished with two goals, both assisted by Richie Chilson, and the second gave the Lakers the winning edge 3:50 into the second half.

Howard scored when he headed in a corner kick from Tony DiAngelo with two minutes left in the first half. Alex Jardine made 10 saves on 12 shots.

Steven Berenyi scored two unassisted second-half goals for 4-3-1 Calvary Chapel of Orrington and Devon Warman made 16 saves on 21 shots.

Katahdin 2, Lee 0

At Stacyville, Marshall Davis scored the winner with 3:52 left in the first half to lift Katahdin over Lee Academy.

Ethan Qualey added an insurance goal off a Billy Duffy assist with 1:03 remaining in the second half. Matt Tarr turned away one of two shots for 11-0 Katahdin.

Jacob Kuester saved 25 of 34 shots for 2-8-1 Lee Academy.

Dexter 6, Penquis 1

At Milo, Devon Grant scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Dexter to the win.

Corbin Bilodeau had a goal plus an assist for the 7-1-3 Tigers. C.J. Giles, Andrew Wing and Dor Andresen added a goal apiece while Nathan Wyman had two saves on seven shots.

Brian Glidden scored for 2-7-1 Penquis with Colby Brown getting the assist. Richie Russell stopped 11 of 22 shots.

Presque Isle 3, Old Town 1

At Presque Isle, Eric Morris and Russ Mortland scored unassisted goals two minutes apart just four minutes into the game as the Wildcats rolled and improved their record to 10-0-1.

Josh Allen added a goal off an assist from Warren Zubrick with 19:49 left in the first half for the Wildcats and Dillon Kingsbury finished with five saves on eight shots.

Luke Bartlett scored on a Jacob St. Peter assist with 33 minutes left in the game for 6-3-2 Old Town and Alex Caballero made 17 saves on 23 shots.

JV: Presque Isle 7-0

Orono 8, George Stevens 1

At Blue Hill, Lee Hecker scored a goal and assisted on another while Chris Johnson and Ian Staples netted two goals apiece as Orono rolled.

Phil Holmes and Matt Clarr added a goal each for the 7-3 Red Riots. Terry Eaton had three saves on four shots.

Michael Fenter-Zapata scored for 4-6-1 George Stevens. Josh Gale saved eight of 24 shots.

JV: Orono 3-1

Hermon 3, Foxcroft 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Taylor Gross, Joel Adams and Jerimy McIntyre scored to lead Hermon past Foxcroft Academy.

Justin McHugh and Kevin Tarr recorded assists for Hermon. Cory Johnson saved seven of nine shots.

Kyo Nikame scored for Foxcroft Academy. Alex Gray turned away seven of 10 shots.

JV: Hermon 5-0

Central 1, John Bapst 1 (2OT)

At Corinth, Patrick Byers scored the tying goal with 1:47 left in the first half on a direct kick to help Central earn a tie after two overtimes with John Bapst of Bangor.

Cole Haskell saved 14 of 19 shots for 5-4-3 Central.

Andrew Casey scored off a Jordan Myers assist in the first half for 4-4-2 John Bapst. Casey Hull stopped 19 of 28 shots.

JV: John Bapst 8-0

Penobscot Valley 3, Piscataquis 1

At Howland, Ryan Scopino broke the 1-1 tie with an unassisted goal in the second half to lead Penobscot Valley to victory over Piscataquis of Guilford.

Charlie Gardner added an insurance goal for the 6-2-2 Howlers. Leigh Dolley scored in the first half off a Gardner assist. Jacob Jones saved five of nine shots.

Nolan Lovell scored with 34 minutes remaining in the second half for 3-3-3 Piscataquis. Corbin Shufelt stopped 14 of 21 shots.

JV: 1-1

Bangor Chr. 8, Searsport 0

At Bangor, Brett Bradford scored three goals and assisted another as Bangor Christian defeated Searsport.

Brandon Wilcox had two goals and an assist for the 7-2 Patriots. Bradley Wilcox added a goal and three assists. Tyler Alexander and Bruce Lee also scored. Nate Fowler provided an assist as Tim Whitaker did not have a save on one shot.

Dan Peach saved 20 of 30 shots for 1-10 Searsport.

Mount View 2, Lincoln Acad. 1

At Thorndike, Kiel Lemieux scored two unassisted goals in the game’s first 10 minutes to lift the Mustangs by the Eagles of South China.

Nick Knight made 13 saves on 20 shots for the 4-6 Mustangs.

Troy Carter scored a second-half goal off an Ethan Wajer assist for the 6-4 Eagles and Kyle Scherer made seven saves on 13 shtos.

JV: Mount View 1-0

Girls soccer

Greenville 2, Calvary Chapel 0

At the University College field in Bangor, Carli Peat’s goal with about 28 minutes left in the game snapped a scoreless tie and gave the Lakers the victory.

Holly Hersey added an unassisted goal with about two minutes left in the game and Sidney Richardson made eight saves on eight shots for 4-0-4 Greenville.

Hannah Lacadie made 14 saves on 19 shots for 2-7 Calvary Chapel of Orrington.

Hermon 3, Central 0

At Hermon, Lindsey Allen booted home a penalty kick to lead the Hermon Hawks past Central.

Katie Durgin and Nicole Turmel added goals and Danielle Ross an assist for 3-7 Hermon. Sara Bishop saved all four shots.

Shari Shina saved 16 of 22 shots for 2-9 Central of Corinth.

Katahdin 1, Lee 1 (2OT)

At Stacyville, Dani-Beth Cyr of Katahdin and Lee Academy’s Felicia Thorton didn’t allow a goal through two overtimes.

Brooke Livezey gave 4-5-2 Katahdin a 1-0 lead with 15 minutes left in the first half. Melissa Duffy provided the assist and Cyr stopped 16 of 17 shots.

Heidi Sappier tied it with 1:49 remaining in regulation for 3-5-1 Lee. Thorton saved 12 of 13 shots.

Mt. Blue 1, Hampden 0

At Farmington, Leigh Ronald scored the winner on a penalty kick 20 minutes into the first half to lead Mt. Blue past Hampden Academy.

Allison Brown saved all seven shots to earn the shutout for 7-3 Mt. Blue.

Julia Snyder turned away six of seven shots for 5-4 Hampden.

JV: Hampden 2-0

Winslow 6, MCI 0

At Pittsfield, Arian Kumlangngam scored three goals to lead the visiting Black Raiders past Maine Central Institute.

Kim Curtis had two goals and Jordyn Mallett added one for the 10-1 Raiders. Beth Fisher made five saves on five shots for her fifth shutout.

Alana Oliver made nine saves on 17 shots for the MCI Huskies.

Field hockey

Foxcroft 1, Piscataquis 0 (OT)

At Dover-Foxcroft, Sabrina Sharrow scored the game’s only goal with 4:47 remaining in overtime as Foxcroft Academy triumphed.

Mariah Arno assisted on the goal for the 8-2 Ponies. Cassie Curtis didn’t face any shots in goal.

Brianna Tweedie stopped 35 of 36 shots for 0-11 Piscataquis of Guilford.

Central 2, John Bapst 0

At Corinth, Samantha Blanchard scored a goal and assisted on Rachel Trafton’s as Central downed John Bapst of Bangor.

Brittany Cote had 14 saves on 14 shots for the 5-6 Red Devils.

Megan Smith stopped 10 of 16 shots for 4-6-1 John Bapst.

JV: Central 3-1

Dexter 4, Old Town 3

At Dexter, Cally Mountain scored a goal and assisted another as Dexter held on to a 4-1 lead to beat Old Town.

Katie Eastman, Olivia Gardner and Jess Mason scored for the 10-0 Tigers. Crissy Mountain provided two assists while Claire Wyman and Kara Lawson had assists. Sam Conway stopped five of eight shots.

Sarah Wilcox scored two goals for the 5-3-1 Coyotes. Molly Baillargeon had a goal as Lindsay St. Louis and Elexa Nickerson recorded assists. Heather Nye saved six of 14 shots.

JV: Dexter 2-0
