AUGUSTA – The Christian Civic League of Maine has a new name to better reflect its mission and association with a national group.

Executive Director Michael Heath says the league is now known as the Maine Family Policy Council. The organization’s board decided to change the name in early September.

Heath says the new name highlights the group’s ties with the national group Focus on the Family, with which it has been associated since 1990.
