A Bangor man whom police had dealt with several times on Sunday was arrested that afternoon after he got into a fight on Third Street, according to Bangor police.

Officers responded to a report of a fight at 1:40 p.m. and arrested Joseph Bolt, 25, for aggravated assault, Lt. Steve Hunt said Monday, reading from the report.

Sgt. Brad Johnston said Bolt had assaulted two females and received two summonses for assault earlier on Sunday. The third charge, of aggravated assault stemming from a fight with the women’s boyfriends, landed him behind bars. The assault was elevated to aggravated status because Bolt pulled something out of his pants – loose change wrapped in fabric – that could have been used as a weapon, Johnston said.

Bolt was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was released from 3rd District Court in Bangor on Monday afternoon, a jail official said. (Nok-Noi Ricker and Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
