HOWLAND – Charlie Gardner scored the game-winning goal with 8:42 left in regulation as Penobscot Valley nipped Penquis of Milo 1-0 in girls soccer action Tuesday.
Gardner scored off a header from 10 yards out as the Howlers beat Penquis of Milo.
Jacob Jones saved nine of 11 shots for 7-2-2 Penobscot Valley.
Richie Russell turned away 12 of 17 shots for the 2-8-1 Patriots.
Bangor 14, Nokomis 0
At Newport, Nick George scored three goals and assisted two others as Bangor shut out Nokomis.
Phil Frost, Johnny Warren and Luke Hettermann scored two goals apiece for the 9-0-1 Rams. Cody Cormier, Zane Gray, Clark Noonan, Mack Susi and Colby Treadwell netted one eachg. Jacques Larochelle and Brandon Landry each provided two assists. Alan Reese made two saves on two shots.
Justin Amoroso stopped 17 of 32 shots for the 0-11 Warriors.

Searsport 5, Bangor Christian 3
At Searsport, Sarah Bradshaw scored three times as Searsport improved to 7-1-1.
Tianna Faunce had a goal and an assist for the winners and Shawna Dakin had the other goal. Olivia Quigley picked up two assists and Paige Bradshaw finished with five saves on 12 shots.
Whitney Holmes, Kelly Robinson and Grace Poulin (penalty kick) scored for 3-4-1 Bangor Christian and Moriah Bach made 12 saves on 31 shots.
Penobscot Valley 2, Piscataquis 0
At Guilford, Meghan King scored a first-half goal off a Jordan Faloon assist to lead Penobscot Valley of Howland past Piscataquis.
Katie Whitten added an insurance goal in the second half for the 6-2-1 Howlers. Casey McCloskey turned away 10 of 11 shots.
Julia Shaffer saved 20 of 24 shots for 2-6-2 Piscataquis.

Dexter 3, Penquis 2
At Dexter, Sara Domenech scored the winner off an Alexis Mitchell assist with 2:24 remaining in the second half to lead Dexter to victory over Penquis of Milo.
Mitchell scored in the first half with an assist from Sarah Murray for the 4-5-1 Tigers. Miranda Gove assisted Megan Collopy’s second-half goal. Maicee Gustin saved five of 10 shots.
Sadie Zambrano and Brooke McLaughlin scored for 1-8-1 Penquis. Lindsey Rideout assisted Zambrano’s first-half goal. Erica Lyford and Kristyn Chapman combined for 23 saves on 31 shots.
John Bapst 9, Central 0
At Bangor, Morgan Chasse scored three goals to lead John Bapst past Central of Corinth.
Kris Gerow had two goals for the 7-4 Crusaders. Lexi Chasse, Taylor Chasse, Mandy Martin and Maggie Lynn also scored. Laura Jordan stopped two of three shots.
Shari Shina saved 18 of 27 shots for 2-8 Central.

Foxcroft 2, Hermon 2 (2OT)
At Dover-Foxcroft, Sarah Whittemore of Foxcroft Academy and Sarah Bishop of Hermon didn’t allow a goal through two overtimes.
Shee-Ann Sergeant scored the tying goal midway through the second half off a Megan Taylor assist for the 5-5-1 Ponies. Paige Hobbs scored in the first half. Whittemore saved five of nine shots.
Lindsey Allen and Kasey Fratini scored first-half goals for 3-8-1 Hermon. Bishop stopped 19 of 33 shots.
Hampden 4, Brewer 0
At Hampden, four players scored goals as Hampden Academy shut out Brewer.
Ashley Robinson, Monique Kelmenson, Abby Neill and Katie Chambers scored for the 6-4 Broncos. Chelsea Kuzio and Sarah Lamberton recorded two assists apiece. Samantha Tutecht had an assist while Julia Snyder stopped all four shots.
Missy Thompson turned away 12 of 16 shots for the 1-9 Witches.

Bangor 6, Nokomis 0
At Bangor, Hanna Colpritt had a hat trick as Bangor beat Nokomis of Newport.
Megan Doucette scored two goals for the Rams and Jade Daumrind added a goal. Nicole Stairs provided two assists while Chelsea Pratt, Denali Graham, M.J. Boyce and Eliza Estabrook had one apiece. Kortnie Hudgens and Mia Smith combined to save all eight shots they faced.
Laura Lyford stopped 17 of 25 shots for the Warriors.

Presque Isle 9, Old Town 1
At Presque Isle, Brittany Bearden had a hat trick as Presque Isle scored seven unanswered goals to beat Old Town.
Sarah Porter and Katrina Whittier each scored twice for the 10-1 Wildcats. Chelsea Nickerson recorded a goal and an assist and Kayla Richards scored. Alyssa Huston provided two assists while Kellsey Park saved four of five shots.
Katie Deshane scored a first-half goal for 9-2 Old Town. Annie Cashon made 12 saves on 24 shots.
Orono 0, George Stevens 0 (2OT)
At Orono, the Red Riots picked up some valuable Heal points, earning a double-overtime draw with George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill in a Class C matchup.
The Eagles are now 8-1-1 while Orono is 5-2-3.
Both teams had great chances to snap the deadlock in the second half and in overtime, but both back lines and goalkeepers made some great stops.
GSA defeated Orono 4-1 earlier this fall.
Elizabeth Fox came up with four saves on 13 shots for the Riots while Hannah Van der Eb saved six of nine for the Eagles.

At Thorndike, Sabrina Vaillancourt scored the winner off a Alison Berg assist with 5:04 left in the second half to lift Nokomis of Newport over Mount View.
Maria Adams saved all six shots for 9-1-2 Nokomis.
Juni Garvin turned away nine of 10 shots for the 7-4 Mustangs.

Dexter 3, Mattanawcook 0
At Lincoln, Jess Mason scored two goals in the first half as Dexter shut out Mattanawcook Academy.
Cally Mountain also scored a first-half goal for 11-0 Dexter. Claire Wyman and Crissy Mountain provided assists on Mason’s goals. Sam Conway stopped 15 of 18 shots.
Colleen Albert saved 14 of 21 shots for the 4-7 Lynx.

Stearns 2, Hermon 0
At Millinocket, first-half goals 1:16 apart by Adriana Eurich gave Stearns its seventh win against three losses.
Kristen Marter made one save on five shots and Katie Mills and Mallory Osborne assisted on the Eurich goals, which came in the final 5:09 of the half.
Hermon (4-7) received 10 saves on 24 shots from Jamie Roy.

Old Town 2, Orono 1
At Old Town, Lindsay St. Louis scored the winner off a Sarah Wilcox assist with 11:31 left in regulation to give Old Town the win over Orono.
Gabi doAmaral had a first-half goal with an assist from Wilcox for 6-3-1 Old Town. Heather Nye and Danyle Boobar combined for four saves on eight shots.
Amy Mares scored with 23 minutes left in the second half for 3-8 Orono. Amber Saucier saved six of 13 shots.
