Colby men blank UM-Farmington for 4th win

WATERVILLE – Josh Lyvers scored two goals and Logan King recorded two assists to lead the Colby College White Mules to a 4-0 men’s soccer win over the UMaine-Farmington Beavers Wednesday.

Andrew Cheit had a goal and assist and Duy Lyford a goal for the 4-4 Mules. Doug Sibor had two saves on two shots.

Matthew Dennett stopped 10 of 31 shots for 3-5 UM-Farmington.

New Hampshire 1, Maine 0

At Durham, N.H., Chris Banks scored the game-winning goal 14 minutes into the second half to lift New Hampshire past Maine.

The goal was the first allowed by the Bears since Sept. 14 against Iona.

Colin O’Donnell made four saves on 10 shots for the 6-2-2 Wildcats. Sean Coleman assisted on the goal.

Nemanja Kostic stopped four of 15 shots for the 3-5-2 Black Bears.

Bates 3, Southern Maine 0

At Lewiston, Chris Okano, Pat King and Patrick Jackson each posted a goal to propel Bates College by the University of Southern Maine.

Tim Molnar and Oliver Fadly each had an assist for Bates. Greg Watts blocked five of 11 shots for the 5-4-0 Bobcats.

Steve May made four saves on 13 shots for the 8-4-1 Huskies.

Women’s soccer

Saint Joseph’s 2, Emerson 0

At Standish, Anna Willis and Mikayla Call each scored a goal in the second half to spark Saint Joseph’s College by Emerson College.

Brianna Jordan and Katie Jordan each recorded an assist for the Monks. Katye Mayo made five saves on nine shots for 6-4 Saint Joseph’s.

Baileigh Wirzburger stopped seven of 18 shots for 6-4-1 Emerson.

Field hockey

Bowdoin 3, UM-Farmington 0

At Brunswick, Kristen Veiga, Lindsay McNamara and Ella Curren each tallied a goal to lead Bowdoin past the University of Maine-Farmington.

Julia King grabbed two assists for 10-0 Bowdoin. Emileigh Mercer stopped the only shot she faced for the shutout.

Kaeleigh Barker made 14 saves for the 6-5 Beavers.
