BANGOR – A Mexican man was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court to four months or time served in jail for re-entry after deportation.
Hector Mondragon-Zizumbo, 38, also was sentenced to a year of supervised release after completing his prison term but has been turned over to immigration officials for deportation.
He pleaded guilty to the charge in July.
Mondragon-Zizumbo was stopped in June for a traffic violation in Brewer, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Bangor.
He first gave a false name but later told officials his real name and admitted that he had entered the country illegally in January. Mondragon-Zizumbo had been deported from the U.S. in November 2006.
