Ski buffs of all ages are invited to an open house on Sunday at the Ski Museum of Maine in Farmington.
The event runs from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Church Street museum and refreshments will be served.
The museum is in its second year of exhibits that are open to the public.
Among the items that will be on display are a number of skis and boots manufactured in Maine: Snowcraft and Tubbs from Norway, the Stevens brothers Withington skis from Buckfield and West Minot, and Sno-Wings from Auburn.
Other equipment includes Paris skis, the Skowhegan ski from Thomas Fox and Sons, John Howe’s Claw, the Oxford Ski made by Ellingwood Turning Company of West Paris, the Spree Wax and many Bass boots from Wilton.
A display on the 10th Mountain Division lists those from Maine who served in the famed World War II ski division.
The museum also has many pictures, logos, advertisements and artifacts of interest.
Visitors are invited to enjoy “memory lane” with their favorite skis and boots from the 1940s through the 1980s – Thunderbirds with Cubco bindings, Splitkeins, Lunds, Heads, K2s, Rossis, Fishers, Harts and others.
Also on display will be Jarvinen cross country skis and Skilom jumping skis, as well as Snurfers, which were early snowboards.
