Downed tree limb causes Capehart outage

BANGOR – A downed tree limb left a portion of the Capehart section of Bangor without power for nearly three hours Saturday afternoon, according to a spokeswoman for Bangor Hydro-Electric Co.

Other minor scattered outages kept crews busy in Corinth and Exeter about the same time, Susan Faloon Bingham said Sunday afternoon.

It was difficult to tell how many individual homes were affected by the outage in Bangor, she said, because the affected Capehart section shows up as one customer in Bangor Hydro’s computer system.

Bingham attributed the outages to a downed tree limb due to gusting winds of more than 30 mph.

A couple of minor outages were reported at midafternoon Sunday in Hancock County.

There were no outages reported on Bangor Hydro’s Web site at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
