Sunday Telegram backs Sen. Collins

PORTLAND – The Maine Sunday Telegram says Republican incumbent Susan Collins deserves a third term in the U.S. Senate.

The newspaper said in an editorial Sunday that win or lose, Collins’ Democratic challenger – 1st Congressional District Rep. Tom Allen – “will undoubtedly continue to contribute to the welfare of Maine and the nation.”

But the paper gave its nod to Collins, crediting her with “a solid record of bipartisan service across a wide variety of areas.”
