Carlson goal lifts Brewer by Oxford Hills

BREWER Tonya Carlson broke a 2-2 tie with a goal 10:19 into the second half off a Sarah Babin assist to lead the Brewer Witches to a 3-2 high school field hockey victory over the Oxford Hills Vikings Monday.

Carlson and Emily Fraser scored first-half goals for 6-8 Brewer. Delaney Turner and Allison DeFillipp provided assists. Angela Patterson made five saves.

Ebony Mills and Marisa Hanning scored for 3-8-3 Oxford Hills of South Paris. Kristy Jurezak and Alexis Gamache recorded assists. Mariah Kimball saved two shots.

JV: Brewer 1-0

Stearns 3, Old Town 1

At Millinocket, Paige Curtis, Adriana Eurich and Katie Mills each scored a goal to help the Minutemen improve to 10-3.

Kaylee Bradford chipped in with an assist for Stearns and Kirsten Marter made four saves on seven shots.

Lindsay St. Louis scored off an assist from Chelsey Humphrey for the 7-5-1 Coyotes and Heather Nye made two saves on 14 shots.

Foxcroft Acad. 1, John Bapst 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Kelsey Boss scored on an assist from Jen Seavey with 10:54 left in the second half to lift the Ponies to victory in their regular-season finale.

Lexi Turner-Bragan stopped all four shots she faced to earn the shutout for 11-3 Foxcroft.

Megan Smith made 14 saves on 15 shots for 5-7-1 John Bapst of Bangor.

JV: Foxcroft 4-0

Dexter 2, Piscataquis 0

At Dexter, goals by Crissy Mountain and Katie Eastman propelled undefeated Dexter to its 13th victory.

Claire Wyman assisted on Mountain’s first-half goal, while Cally Mountain assisted on Eastman’s second-half goal.

Sam Conway saved two of three shots for Dexter.

Brianna Tweedie made 24 saves on 32 shots for 0-14 Piscataquis of Guilford.

Girls soccer

Katahdin 3, Schenck 0

At East Millinocket, Brooke Livezey, Mary-Jo Robinson and Melissa Duffy each scored a goal as Katahdin of Stacyville blanked the Schenck Wolverines.

Jalisa Moore and Dani-Beth Cyr each had an assist for the Cougars.

Leann Toothaker made 20 saves on 24 shots for the Wolverines.

Hampden 6, Skowhegan 0

At Skowhegan, Ashley Robinson knocked in a pair of goals as Hampden won for the sixth time in seven games.

Katie Chambers netted a goal and dished out three assists while Samantha Utecht had a goal and assist. Micaela Stephenson and Chelsea Kuzio added goals and Clarissa El-Hajj and Sarah Lamberton assists for the 7-4 Broncos. Julia Snyder saved all seven shots.

Samantha Gray stopped seven of 13 for 3-8 Skowhegan.

JV: Hampden 4-0

Dexter 3, Penobscot Valley 2

At Howland, Sara Domenech scored the winner with 6:17 left in the second half off a Megan Collopy assist to give Dexter the win over Penobscot Valley.

Miranda Gove and Maicee Gustin scored for the 6-5-1 Tigers. Alexis Mitchell assisted Gove’s goal. Gustin and Kaitlyn Caron combined for 10 saves on 17 shots.

Jordan Leveille scored a first-half and assisted Meghan King’s second-half goal. Casey McCloskey stopped seven of 11 shtos for 8-3-1 Penobscot Valley.

Greenville 2, Richmond 1

At Greenville, Ruby Rockwell and McKenna Peat scored first-half goals as Greenville held on to beat Richmond.

Kaitlin Harmon assisted Peat’s goal. Sidney Richardson stopped 11 of 17 shots for Greenville.

Leandra Martin scored in the second off a Danica Hurley assist for Richmond. Lindsey Hoopingarner saved 16 of 25 shots.

Calvary Chapel 6, Shead 0

At Eastport, Jessica Owens and Meagan Warman scored two goals apiece as Calvary Chapel of Orrington defeated Shead.

Lisanne Rieker and Hannah Lacadie also scored for the 5-5 Sabers. Emilye Mills saved six of 10 shots.

Cassandra Stanhope stopped 17 of 29 shots for 3-9 Shead.

Orono 7, Bangor Christian 0

At Bangor, seven different players scored goals at Orono shut out Bangor Christian.

Ruth Mares, Chloe Paul, Alex Crocker, Julie Normond, Shelby Wheeler, Laura Triandafillou and Rachel Cote scored for 6-2-3 Orono. Normond and Cote also provided assists. Elizabeth Fox saved three of six shots.

Moriah Bach and Abby Vicnair combined for 15 saves on 30 shots.

Boys soccer

Richmond 3, Greenville 2

At Greenville, Jason Brown scored two goals – including the game-winner with 8:12 left in the game – to keep Richmond undefeated.

Eric Curtis scored an unassisted goal and Andy Harrington had an assist for the 12-0 Bobcats. Bruce Carver made 11 saves on 13 shots.

Richie Chilson scored both goals for the 6-2-2 Lakers, Tony DiAngelo and Alex Jardine each had an assist. Jardine made 27 saves on 30 shots.

PVHS 3, Penquis 1

At Milo, Charlie Gardiner scored two goals to help Penobscot Valley improve to 9-2-2.

Leigh Dolley chipped in with a goal and assist for the Howlers of Howland and Jacob Jones made eight saves on 26 shots.

Joe Leland scored off a Bryan Russell assist for 2-11-1 Penquis and Richie Russell made six saves on 13 shots.

Katahdin 6, Schenck 1

At East Millinocket, Mashall Davis scored four first-half goals to lead Katahdin of Stacyville past Schenck.

Ethan Qualey added two goals for the 11-0-1 Cougars. Kolby Gallagher, Richard Qualey, Billy Duffy and Davis provided assists. Matt Tarr saved nine of 11 shots.

Aaron Hutchinson scored off a Josh Brown assists in the first for 1-11-1 Schenck. Ryan Thompson turned away 18 of 31 shots.

Dexter 5, Piscataquis 3

At Guilford, Andrew Lary scored four goals as Dexter improved its record to 9-1-3.

Corbin Bilodeau added a goal and an assist for the Tigers.

Josh Herrick scored three goals for Piscataquis, while Damien Bridge had two assists and Brian Hackett contributed one assist for the 4-6-2 Pirates.

Nathan Wyman made eight saves on 16 shots for Dexter. Corbin Shufelt made seven saves on 20 shots for Piscataquis.

MDI 7, Hermon 1

At Bar Harbor, Abe Gladstone scored two goals and provided two assists as Mount Desert Island beat Hermon.

Carl Ferm and Ben Steel scored two goals apiece for the 7-5-1 Trojans. Jeremy Hyde scored and Travis Nolan had two assists. Iz Ward stopped three of five shots.

Andrews Veles scored with an assist from Jerimy McIntryre for 2-10-1 Hermon. Corey Johnson turned away six of 15 shots.

JV: Hermon 2-1
