Nowell, Emerson scores pace Saint Joseph’s

BANGOR – Kayla Nowell scored an unassisted goal at 33:49 in the first half to lead Saint Joseph’s College of Standish past Husson University 2-0 in field hockey action Monday.

Kelly Emerson added an insurance goal in the second half off a corner kick. Meaghan Johnson saved seven of 15 shots for 8-3 Saint Joseph’s.

Caroline Bochtler turned away six of 15 shots for 2-7 Husson.

At Standish, Whitney Linindoli scored an unassisted goal off a rebound 18:16 into the game as Saint Joseph’s College shut out Albertus Magnus.

Katie Jordan scored off a Stephanie Masters cross in the second for 7-4 Saint Joseph’s. Katye Mayo saved two of four shots.

Christina Oddo turned away seven of 19 shots for 3-8-2 Albertus Magnus.
