THOMASTON – Lawrence “Skip” Greenlaw will discuss the movement to repeal the school consolidation law at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Watts Hall, 246 Main St.

Residents in SAD 5 and SAD 50 will vote on the proposed merger of the two districts in November.

Greenlaw is a former state legislator who has spearheaded the repeal movement. The Maine Coalition to Save Our Schools argues consolidation would force schools to share services, possibly raise property taxes, and sacrifice local control.
