AUGUSTA – A woman from East Waterboro is going to jail for 90 days for fraudulently obtaining welfare benefits.

Attorney General Steven Rowe said April Archer obtained the benefits by concealing that she was employed and earning income.

Rowe said applicants who seek to defraud public benefit programs are stealing from taxpayers and honest recipients alike.
