What a crazy season of “Project Runway”! J-Lo dropped out as a judge due to injury and Tim Gunn was forced to “make it work” by sitting in on the panel.
In the end it all worked out, when Leanne Marshall stepped up to the plate in the all-female finale to beat out Korto Momolu and Kenley Collins. Her wave-inspired designs carried all the way through her white-and-turquoise runway display and in the end the judges got it right. Let’s hope for another season.
There’s also some potentially good news on the reality horizon according to a report from Reality TV World’s Web site. It looks like Kathy Griffin may have told Bravo to take a hike because it won’t give her the dough she wants for a fifth season of “My Life on the D-List.” It would be a shame if there weren’t another season (note the sarcasm).
Even better news is what’s coming up that will air. Ladies, you’ll like this one.
The CW has come out with a new series, “Stylista,” in which 11 fashionistas attempt to prove themselves to the high and mighty at Elle magazine. The contestants, men and women included, will have to impress the magazine’s fashion news director, accessories editor and creative director if they want to land the grand prize that includes a paid editorial position at the magazine, a paid lease on a Manhattan apartment, and a clothing allowance at H&M. The total is about $100,000 worth of items to equal a fashion fanatic’s idea of heaven.
Each week, the contestants will compete by completing a task and a fashion editorial assignment. It’s kind of like “The Apprentice” in the fashion world. And you all know how much I loved the first few seasons of The Donald.
Check it out at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, on The CW.
Also, be prepared for next week’s column after I have a chance to review the first episode of a new season of “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” That’s right, the original is back with a new housewife on board. And while the economy might be tough for most of us, these ladies aren’t holding back. I’ll give you a sneak peek at what you can expect when the fourth season airs next month.
