Parker leads Owls Madawaska boys remain unbeaten

PRESQUE ISLE – Shawn Parker scored a pair of goals and assisted on another as Madawaska improved to 12-0-2 with a 4-3 boys soccer win over Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook Thursday.

Nathan A. Beaulieu and Andrew Dechaine had the other goals for Madawaska and Jeff Cyr had an assist. Nathan P. Beaulieu made seven saves.

Dakota Sleeper scored two goals and assisted on Tyler Robinson’s goal for 8-5-1 Southern Aroostook and Dillon Boulier made 16 saves.

Cen. Aroostook 8, East Grand 0

At Mars Hill, Manny Martinez scored twice to lift Central Aroostook over East Grand of Danforth.

The 8-4-2 Panthers also received goals from Kyle Murray, Brendan York, Dan Brewer, Spencer Stetson, Logan Thomas and Matt Graves. Ross Grass saved two of four shots.

Abe Brittain and Nick McLone combined for 27 saves off 51 shots for the 0-12 Vikings.

Ashland 6, Wisdom 1

At Presque Isle, Kenny Tarr and Stephen Philbrook scored two goals apiece as the Hornets beat Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Jake Paradis had a goal and an assist for 9-5 Ashland. Casey Cobb added a goal. Jeremy Tarr, Royce MacDonald and Kenny Tarr recorded assists. Bobby Gardiner turned away 10 of 18 shots.

Cody Chamberland scored a first-half goal off a Rocky Chamberland assist for the 7-6-1 Pioneers. Curtis Collins saved nine of 23 shots.

Van Buren 4, Washburn 1

At Van Buren, the host Crusaders got goals out of four different scorers en route to downing Washburn.

Derrek Rossignol, David Levasseur, Lucas Roy and Travis Chabre each scored once for 2-11-1 Van Buren. Jordan Banks was the goaltender.

The 1-10-1 Beavers got a goal from Sebastian Viola. Justin Howe manned the net.

Highview Chr. 4, Islesboro 3

At Charleston, Alexander Papkov scored three goals and assisted the other as Highview Christian held onto a 4-0 lead to defeat Islesboro.

Islesboro trailed 4-0 2:03 into the second half and scored three unanswered goals.

Wesley Jones added a goal for the 9-2 Knights. Ryosuke Yamada provided an assist. Stefan Rowe saved eight of 10 shots in the first half and Jones turned away 11 of 17 shots in the second half.

Max Mahan, D.J. Johnson and Charlie Gebhardt scored for 1-9 Islesboro. Tyler Pendleton recorded an assist as Blaze Jenner stopped 30 of 40 shots.

Bangor Christian 3, Sumner 0

At East Sullivan, Brett Bradford scored two goals and assisted on a third as Bangor Christian shut out Sumner.

Brad Wilcox had a goal and an assist for the 9-2-1 Patriots. Nate Fowler also recorded an assist as Tyler Alexander saved six of seven shots.

Mike Crowley and Josh Ring combined for 13 saves off 24 shots for 2-11-1 Sumner.

Bangor 3, Hampden 0

At Bangor, Mack Susi scored twice as the undefeated Rams improved their record to 12-0-1.

Nick George also scored for Bangor, while Zane Gray, Cody Cormier and Johnny Warren each contributed an assist.

Bud Angst saved all four shots on goal he faced to earn the Rams’ 10th shutout of the season.

Brad Melanson made 15 saves on 18 shots for 7-4-2 Hampden Academy.

Girls soccer

Houlton 10, Schenck 1

At East Millinocket, Chelsi Murray had a hat trick as Houlton routed Schenck.

Lainey Herring and Amanda Fogarty each scored two goals for the 9-4-1 Shiretowners. Martha McPartland, Rebecca Crandall and Amelia Butler scored. Madison Lezotte and Colleen Fitzpatrick combined to save 16 of 17 shots.

Karlie Michaud scored a second-half goal off a Sam York assist for the 2-12 Wolverines. Leann Toothaker and Kira Burleigh combined to stop 11 of 22 shots.

Van Buren 3, Washburn 0

At Van Buren, Lindsay LaJoie scored two goals as Van Buren shut down Washburn.

Jennifer Ouellette had a goal and an assist for the 9-5 Crusaders. Kristy Learnard provided an assist. Ashlie Wilson stopped all four shots to earn her fifth shutout.

Rachel Palmer saved 12 of 21 shots for 7-6-1 Washburn.

Ashland 6, Wisdom 0

At Presque Isle, six players scored goals as Ashland shut out Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Broke Labelle, Macie Pelkey, Jackie D’Ozier, Jessica Jimmo, Crystal Cook and Elena Reynaga scored for 10-3-1 Ashland. Jimmo also provided an assist as Taylor Baker saved the only shot she faced.

Suzie Collins turned away 20 of 46 shots for 0-14 Wisdom.

Cen. Aroostook 6, East Grand 1

At Mars Hill, Kristen Long scored two goals and assisted another as Central Aroostook beat East Grand of Danforth.

Brittany Mosher and Sarah Michaud each had a goal and an assist for the 5-9 Panthers. Meagan McClay and Gabrielle Brewer also scored. Vicki McIntyre and Desray Brewer combined for no saves on four shots.

Kelsey Daoust scored for 2-10 East Grand. Courtney Lloyd had 11 saves off 24 shots.

WA Raiders 4, Narraguagus 0

At East Machias, Andi Flannery scored two goals as Washington Academy shut out Narraguagus of Harrington.

The game was called 10 minutes into the second half because of rain.

Brandilyn Hodgdon had a goal and an assist for the Raiders. Irene Lewey also scored a goal. Jesse Hardy and Courtney Radeka didn’t face a shot.

Beth Rolfe saved six of 14 shots for Narraguagus.

Bangor Christian 5, Sumner 0

At Bangor, Demelza Ramirez netted two goals to lead Bangor Christian past Sumner of East Sullivan.

Gretchen Veevart, Kelly Robinson and Regan French scored for the 5-7-1 Patriots. Abby Groski, Whitney Holmes and Moriah Bach provided assists. Bach and Abby Vicnair combined for three saves on five shots.

Kelsey Tucker saved 15 of 26 shots for 3-11 Sumner.

Woodland 4, Calvary Chapel 3

At Woodland, Molly White scored two second-half goals as Woodland prevailed after a 2-2 halftime score.

Casey Burke had two goals in the first for 7-4-2 Woodland. Ashley Laking and Julia Nicholas recorded assists. Taylor Cochran saved 13 of 18 shots.
