ROCKLAND – The Festival of Lights Committee is accepting applications for entries for the annual Parade of Lights scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29. The theme of the parade this year is “Light up the Spirit of Giving.”
Floats must be lit and the use of holiday music is encouraged. Acceptable modes of transport include flatbeds, small trailers and pickup trucks. The parade will begin at North Main Street and end in Harbor Park, where there will be musical entertainment, refreshments and a campfire. Those attending the parade are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to place on a favorite float. The float with the most donated items will win the “People’s Choice” award.
Applications must be filled out in advance and are available by calling Roxanne Jobe at Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce at 596-0376 or by visiting www.therealmaine.com. A $10 application fee will help offset parade expenses.
