FREEPORT – The Maine Council of Churches will celebrate its 70th anniversary at a dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Freeport Hilton Garden Inn.
Retired United Methodist Bishop S. Clifton Ives, who has worked with the council for more than 50 years, will be honored.
Guest speaker Attorney General Steven Rowe will talk about his personal faith, values and the calling to public service.
