DOVER-FOXCROFT – Erika Weidner of Randolph has been selected as the new executive director and chief executive officer of the Piscataquis Regional YMCA.
An open house to welcome Weidner to the region will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the YMCA. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.
The new CEO has an extensive background in YMCA leadership and volunteerism. She most recently held the position of branch director of the Kennebec Valley YMCA in Manchester and is a health and wellness faculty member of Y-USA. She also is a member of several community organizations and has served as a leader on her children’s Parent-Teacher Association committee and with the Randolph Cares Committee.
Weidner plans to move with her family to Dover-Foxcroft.
In addition to hiring a new CEO, the Piscataquis Regional YMCA also has reorganized its board of directors. The board has several new people, including new leadership. Dan Steinke is president, Jason Brochu is vice president, Bill Rayfield is treasurer and Angela Coy is secretary.
The board and board leadership are committed to working with Weidner and her staff to strengthen the financial standing of the facility and increase the quality of the programs and services.
The regional YMCA plans to kick off a new campaign in 2009 called “A New Year, A New Y.” More details will be available on this campaign later.
