DEXTER – Senior fullback Blake Ford rushed for 279 yards on 11 carries and scored four touchdowns Saturday as the Calais-Woodland Silverados earned a 48-14 LTC Class C football victory over Dexter.
Ford scored on runs of 60, 57, 59 and 13 yards for 4-3 Calais-Woodland, which won for the fourth time in five games, to extend a 16-14 halftime lead with 32 unanswered points after intermission.
Ford also contributed four two-point conversion runs.
Sophomore Cam Shorey added touchdown runs of 25 and 36 yards for the Silverados, and finished the afternoon with 122 rushing yards on 10 carries.
Calais-Woodland finished with 401 total yards – all on the ground – on 26 rushes, an average of 15.4 yards per carry.
Dexter (1-6) got a pair of second-quarter touchdowns to rally from a 16-0 deficit. Doug Richardson scored on a 2-yard run, and Cameron Doncet-Hall caught a 31-yard scoring pass from Andrew Lockhart on the last play of the first half.
Richardson finished with 193 rushing yards on 33 carries. Dexter amassed 273 yards of total offense, including 245 rushing yards on 56 carries.

At Readfield, the Black Raiders bounced back after three first-half turnovers to beat the Black Bears.
Lucas Jones broke a scoreless tie early in the third quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run. Winslow added two scores in the fourth quarter, touchdown runs of 16 and 53 yards by Scott Siviski.
Siviski, Eric Bezanson and Lucas Jones combined to rush for more than 260 yards in the contest.

At Turner Center, Tyler Green scored five touchdowns on runs of 3, 21, 9, 3 and 11 yards Friday night as the Hornets handled the Lions.
Leavitt scored three times in the second quarter to take a 28-7 halftime advantage. The hosts amassed 350 yards rushing.
Willy Fogg ripped off a 67-yard scoring jaunt in the first quarter and added a 1-yarder late in the contest.

At Hampden on Friday, Shawn Smith ran for a touchdown and threw for a touchdown in the last five minutes of the game as the Broncos rallied to defeat the Raiders of Sabattus.
Smith ran for a five-yard touchdown with 4:58 left in the game then, after a successful onside kick, threw for a 20-yard touchdown to Justin Rodgerson with 3:05 remaining to put Hampden ahead.
Smith was 17-for-24 for 191 yards passing with two touchdowns, including a 14-yarder Noland Turner and had eight carries for 87 yards.
Turner had nine catches for 94 yards and also carried the ball 14 times for 73 yards.
Hampden celebrated its “Senior Night,” during which it honored former player Matt Osborne, who was killed in an accident last Christmas eve. The Broncos’ players have worn Osborne’s jersey number, No. 27, on their helmets and the coaches wore a “27” patch on their shirts.
That turned out to be HA’s winning point total after the fourth-quarter rally.

At Brewer, Caitlin Jameson scored the game-winner with an assist from Erica Paulette about three minutes into overtime to give No. 9 Brunswick the win over No. 8 Brewer.
Heather Durkee stopped all 10 shots to earn the shutout for Brunswick.
Angela Patterson saved 15 of 16 shots for the Witches.
Boys soccer
Greenville 2, Valley 0
At Greenville, Tony DiAngelo and Joe Gilbert each netted a goal in the second half to spark Greenville past Valley of Bingham.
DiAngelo also grabbed an assist for Greenville. Alex Jardine stopped all seven shots he faced for the 7-2-2 Lakers.
Travis Rich made 28 saves on 30 shots for 1-11 Valley.
Girls soccer

At Greenville, McKenna Peat scored three goals to spearhead the Lakers’ victory.
Ruby Rockwell provided a goal and an assist for 6-1-4 Greenville and Sidney Richardson scored a goal. Nikki Hamilton added an assist.
Richardson and Miranda Drinkwater combined to make seven saves on as many shots.
Allyssa Vitalone made 14 saves and faced 30 shots for 1-8-2 Valley of Bingham.
