PORTLAND – Gasoline prices continue to fall in Maine and nationwide with the start of a new workweek.
According to AAA, a gallon of regular was averaging $2.92 a gallon in Maine on Monday.
That’s down 3 cents from Sunday and 78 cents from a month ago, but it’s still 2 cents higher than last year at this time. Gas prices peaked at an average of $4.14 a gallon in mid-July.
AAA said a gallon of diesel fuel was averaging $3.63 on Monday, down from $4.10 a month ago.
