Waldo County TRIAD to hold benefit dinner

BELFAST – Waldo County TRIAD will hold a benefit spaghetti dinner for longtime volunteer Carroll Warren Sr. from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Masonic Hall on Wight Street.

Proceeds from the dinner will be used to help defray Warren’s medical bills as he is scheduled to undergo procedures in Pennsylvania and Ohio next month. Warren was a founding member of TRIAD and served as chairman of the senior citizen assistance program until he was forced to step down recently because of his illness.

“I literally have never met a man who has given as much of himself to helping others,” Police Chief Jeffrey Trafton said Monday. “Carroll never asked for help from anyone and we just decided to help him whether he wants it or not. We’re going to try and help him for a change instead of him doing it for everybody else.”

The dinner will feature spaghetti, tossed salad, rolls, dessert and drinks. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children age 5-12, free to any younger children.
