BREWER – The planning board approved connecting the parking lots of Marden’s and the Wilson Street Burger King on Oct. 6, Tena Williams, deputy code enforcement officer, said earlier this month.

Customers at both businesses asked for a way to get to the other without having to drive into Wilson Street traffic, and the owners agreed on adding a through way, then went to the city for permission.

“It was a matter of convenience,” Williams said, adding safety is another benefit.

During the meeting, the board also approved Dale Chapman’s plans to open Acme Pizza at 484 Wilson St. in the former location of C&C contractors.

“They are going in the same building as Aubuchon Hardware, Kool Rayz and Subway,” Williams said.

The location needs renovation, so it is not known when the pizza shop will open.
