Reason for running: I’m running for state Senate to attract new jobs, to protect our local schools, and to improve how government serves the people of Maine. The people of Senate District 20 deserve a leader who will take on the business-as-usual crowd in Augusta so we can achieve real results that will create new opportunities for success here in Maine.

Experience: Throughout my four terms as a representative, I have been involved in developing legislation on issues critical to the residents of Maine – such as the removal of MTBE from gas in Maine, energy policy, economic development, education funding, tax reform and budget management. This experience has prepared me to be a knowledgeable and an immediately effective member of the Senate.

Reason for running: During the next few years, the state of Maine will be confronted by economic, environmental, and energy challenges unparalleled in our history. Experience and an in-depth understanding of the problems confronting us are essential. After serving for four terms in the Maine House of Representatives, I want to expand the use of my experience by serving in the state Senate.
