BANGOR – Edmund Skeffington of Old Town, a retired postal worker and military serviceman, has won $1,000 worth of home heating oil in a contest sponsored by Bangor Federal Credit Union and R.H. Foster Energy.

“Normally for Credit Union Day, we bring in treats for the members and maybe give out some small giveaways,” said Stacey Young, marketing coordinator for the credit union. “This year, with the economy in the shape that it’s in and the cold weather looming, we thought it’d be nice to make an impact on one person’s home heating burden this year.”

“With the heating season upon us, we understand the concerns of our neighbors and we were happy to be a part of this tremendous gesture,” said Robert Tracey, executive vice president of RH Foster Energy.
