Puzzles appeal to Destinee

Destinee loves to read and do arts and crafts.

Born in 1998, she enjoys playing outside and is full of energy.

Destinee is very creative and loves school. Her favorite subject is math, and she is quite accomplished in the subject.

She is an engaging child who is easy to speak with. One of her favorite activities is doing sudoku puzzles. She has come up with her own solution on how to do this type of puzzle and she is right all the time. The puzzles are one way she has improved her math skills and there is no doubt why she considers math her best subject.

Destinee also enjoys recess and lunch – the two times each day she gets to see her friends. She receives special education supports through the school day to help with her behavioral needs in the classroom.

She would do best in a two-parent family. Her parents should be experienced in with working with children with behavioral challenges. She would do best in a home where she is the only child so she can receive the one-on-one attention she needs and desires.

A family with older children might work as well. She would succeed in a home with an established structure and a routine that is predictable for her.

She loves animals and would like to have pets to help take care of.

Destinee is one of the 147 children in the care of the state Department of Health and Human Services seeking an adoptive family.

An adoption subsidy may be available for the most appropriate family.

Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
