ORONO – The University of Maine men’s and women’s basketball teams held their annual Blue-White scrimmages Sunday afternoon and about 300 fans turned out to get a sneak preview of both squads.
In the men’s game, the blue team won the 60-minute contest 49-37 with junior guard Mark Socoby of Houlton leading the way with 15 points. Freshman guard Gerald McLemore had 13 points and seven rebounds, while senior guard Junior Bernal finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Sean McNally of Gardiner had 12 points and seven rebounds and Auburn’s Troy Barnies had 10 points.
The blue team also won the women’s game, 55-52 behind senior forward Colleen Kilmurray, who had 17 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
Brittany Boser had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Amanda Tewksbury scored 22 points.
Tanna Ross of Newburgh and Katie Bratishko each scored 13 points. Kristin Baker had 12 points and seven assists.
