Teens charged with burglary at restaurant

CARIBOU – Two teenagers were arrested and charged with burglary and theft after an incident Sunday morning at Big Cheese Pizza.

Officer Keith Ouellette said Monday afternoon that the Caribou Police Department received a call from employees at the restaurant just before 9:15 a.m. The employees at the Main Street business said they had been victims of a burglary and theft.

Officer Doug Wilcox went to the restaurant and found that someone had gained entry to the building through a window. The burglars made off with a variety of cigarettes, snacks and alcohol.

Officer Ouellette later was assigned to the case and discovered evidence left at the scene. He said the evidence led him to arrest a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old-male early Sunday afternoon. The two are brothers, according to police.

The officer said the 15-year-old was released to the custody of his parents.

The 17-year-old was held in police custody because at the time of his arrest he was free on conditional release. He will be held pending a court appearance.
