HOULTON – State police continue their efforts to track down who is behind a burglary spree in Aroostook County that stretches from Crystal to New Canada.
State police Sgt. Julie Bergan said Tuesday that police have not made any arrests in the case yet but continue to investigate leads.
The burglaries that have taken place over the past few weeks have targeted town offices and other businesses.
Investigators said those responsible for the crimes have gained entry into the buildings through rear windows and attempted to steal cash.
Town offices in Crystal and New Canada were targeted, according to police. The bulk of the crimes have taken place in Caribou and surrounding towns.
There are some leads, according to investigators. Trooper Daniel Deschaine is leading the investigation.
Police continue to encourage business owners to remove any money from their buildings at night.
Anyone with information on these or other crimes is encouraged to call the state police or local law enforcement agency.
