DEDHAM – A two-day fundraiser took place at the Knights of Pythias lodge hall in Gouldsboro on Aug. 16 and 17. Sponsored by the Knights of Pythias of Maine and the Phythian Sisters of Maine, the event raised funds for Camp CaPella, located at Philips Lake in Dedham. Camp CaPella provides recreational opportunities for handicapped children.
A public supper and dance took place on Saturday. Music was provided by Tim Sprague of Boothbay and by the Traditional Country Drifters, members of the Maine Country Music Association.
Sunday brought a silent auction and pickerel fishing contest. Winners of the contest were Ron Swan, first; Kayla Young, second; and Brian Berry, third.
Kayla, 9, donated her prize money to Camp CaPella.
