LEWISTON – An inmate from Maine’s Bolduc Correctional Facility was captured by police after a stolen truck allegedly driven by the inmate crashed and left the scene.

Kris Nadeau, 33, was arrested Tuesday night at a convenience store in Lewiston. Nadeau faces several charges, including drunken driving, aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation and unlawful possession of a scheduled drug. He was taken to Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.

Police say Nadeau failed to return to the Bolduc facility while on work release and allegedly stole a truck. Police recognized the vehicle after a hit-run accident in Knox County and later made the arrest.
