ORONO – The University of Maine volleyball team raised $1,610 during its 2008 “Dig Pink” match last week.

Leading up to their match against the University of New Hampshire, the Black Bears collected donations to support the “Dig Pink” program sponsored by the Side-Out Foundation, a nationwide rally to promote breast cancer awareness and education.

UMaine wore pink uniforms donated by Asics and donned pink warmup shirts donated by Lon and Deborah Wright, the parents of senior Ashlee Wright.
