FORT KENT – In recognition of National French Week, the University of Maine at Fort Kent French Heritage Council president Katherine Harrington and UMFK Acadian Archives Director Lise Pelletier have scheduled the following events:

. Noon-1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, “Brown Bag Lunch” at the Acadian Archives, including a discussion of the use of French in the Valley. Open to the public.

. 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, “Pause-cafe” in the Nadeau Hall teleconference room, an opportunity for community members to socialize in French.

. Saturday, Nov. 8, French Heritage Council “Discovering the Treasures of the Valley” outing. To sign up or for information call Harrington at 834-7629 or e-mail katharine.harrington@maine.edu.

. 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, Performance by Josee Vachon in Fox Auditorium. For information, call 834-7800.

. Monday, Nov. 10, French Book Club launch at the Acadian Archives. To register or for information call 834-7536 or e-mail lise.m.pelletier@maine.edu.

. Thursday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 16, Memoir-writing workshops. To register or for information call Don Eno at 834-7835 or Lise Pelletier 834-7536.

. 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, Screening and discussion of the Quebecois film “L’age des tenebres” in the Nadeau Hall teleconference room.
