Arts ‘n Kids musical theater starts next week

Once again, reports Karen Hartnagle, Community Health and Counseling Services is sponsoring an after-school program in musical theater for children 8 to 11 in collaboration with Maine Discovery Museum on Main Street in Bangor.

Arts ‘n Kids at the museum will begin Tuesday, Hartnagle wrote of the program for which preregistration is required.

The program for this Arts ‘n Kids session will be songs and dances from the play “Annie.”

Arts ‘n Kids consists of four six-week sessions, Hartnagle explained, with each session made up of two classes a week, meeting from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A child can sign up for one six-week session or more, Hartnagle said of the program taught by A.J. Mooney and Andrea Stark.

The fee is $50 for each six-week program, but to ensure that all who want to can participate, scholarships are available.

To register, or receive more information, call the museum at 262-7200.
