MACHIASPORT – A ceremony to dedicate the veterans memorial honoring Machiasport veterans for their service to their country will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Municipal Building, 8 Unity Square.

All veterans, family members and residents are invited to attend.

The ceremony will cap six years of effort by the veterans committee and the town to raise money for the monument and memorial grounds. The project has cost about $39,000.

Commemorative pavers, large bricks that honor a veteran, loved one, family member or a special person, are available at the town office for $100 each with one to three lines of 11 characters per line. The paver will help defray the cost of the project and help in the upkeep of the memorial.
