Player of the week

COLLEGE

North Atlantic Conference

Jenna Rowan (University of Maine at Farmington sophomore outside hitter of Kittery), women’s volleyball, led UMF with 7 kills, 4 aces, 4 digs, 1 block and 1 assist.

Amber Murphy (University of Maine at Farmington junior forward), women’s soccer, scored the winning goal in a 1-0 semifinal win over Castleton State and scored the winner in a 3-2 overtime win against Lyndon State.

Mckell Barnes (University of Maine at Farmington sophomore goalkeeper), women’s soccer rookie, made four saves against Castleton State.

Gina Gaetani (Saint Joseph’s College senior from Auburn), field hockey, scored winning goal in 1-0 semifinal victory over UM-Farmington.

Sarah Bartell (Saint Joseph’s College freshman), field hockey rookie, scored a goal in a 3-1 quarterfinal win over Thomas.

Kayla Barker (University of Maine at Farmington senior goalkeeper), field hockey player of the year, ranked 17th nationally in save percentage (.830) and 41st in saves per game (7.8).

GNAC

Ryan Prescott (Saint Joseph’s College senior), men’s cross country, won the GNAC Championship in Standish on Saturday with a record time of 26:53.

Hannah Gajewski (Saint Joseph’s College from Biddeford), women’s swimming rookie, had wins in 200 IM and 200 Free relay teams against Colby Sawyer.

Samantha Varrell (Saint Joseph’s College freshman), women’s volleyball rookie, had 13 kills, 37 assists, 4 aces, 34 digs and one block during the week.

ECAC

Kelly Thomas (Bowdoin College senior goalkeeper), women’s soccer defensive, made a career-high 15 saves in NESCAC quarterfinal game against Tufts.

Wade Mondoux (Maine Maritime Academy sophomore fullback from Berwick), football defensive, had a career-high 26 tackles, 19 solo, in MMA’s 42-34 win over Coast Guard.
