CAMDEN – Bangor Savings Bank committed a $5,000 challenge grant to United Mid-Coast Charities to kick off its annual Making Miracles campaign. The bank will match donations made by Camden and Rockland businesses for Making Miracles.

Participating businesses donate up to 10 percent of their total sales to the effort on a particular Saturday in December. As part of the event, Natalie’s Restaurant at the Camden Harbour Inn will serve a special “Making Miracles Menu” on Dec. 13. The inn will donate proceeds from the dinner to support United Mid-Coast Charities.

Bangor Savings Bank, Maine’s largest independent bank, has grown from 14 branches to 51 branches over the past five years. Its newest branch will open in Rockland in early 2009.
