BANGOR – The Shaw’s Supermarkets Charitable Foundation recently contributed $10,000 to The Acadia Hospital’s Keep the Promise Capital Campaign. The donation will go toward the creation of a new Pediatric and Family Center that will house Acadia’s youth outpatient programs, as well as classrooms used for the education of both day program and inpatient children and teens.

In presenting the check to Acadia’s new president and CEO, David S. Proffitt, Norm Jolin, director of Shaw’s Hogan Road store, said, “Shaw’s Supermarkets believes in the power of philanthropy, and we see our gift to Acadia Hospital as an excellent investment for the hundreds of youth and their family members who will benefit from the new Pediatric and Family Center.”

The Keep the Promise campaign is scheduled to wrap up in mid-November and recently reached the $1.1 million mark.
